Exclamation Engine problems

I just bought a 1990 crx for 3k. It has a B16a engine swap.
My friend has the same swap in his crx.
My problem is the engine idles at 1800 and the tach bounces at 7000.
the only thing different from his engine and mine is the ecu's.
he has a pr3 and I have a pw0.
I don't know what to do please HELP!!!!

Re: Engine problems

Does tach bounce from 1800-7000? if so sounds like a vacumn leak.

Re: Engine problems

the engine will idle at 1800, the throttle response is great all the way to 7000 rpm's, but then it won't go to 8000rpm's. i checked the vaccum lines and the only thing different between my friends engine and mine is the ecu.

my ecu is a pw0.

do I need a pr3?

Re: Engine problems

I think the pwo is actually better than the pr3. If you still think it's the ecu try switching with your buddy..see if that changes anything. If not you definetly know it's not the ecu...just a thought...

Re: Engine problems

you should be able to tell if the engine is at 800rpm of 1800 just by how it feels and sounds.

Re: Engine problems

for the high idle look under the throttle body and you'll see a cylinder looking thing. take it off. take it apart. inside there is a ball that can be screwed in. screw it all the way in nice and tight. put it back together and bam no more high idle.

i had the same problem with my b16 but mine was idleing at 3k.
