Question 2001 Door Locks

My toddler played with the passenger side door lock and now the driver side won't unlock with the remote. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Re: 2001 Door Locks

Hi Rob31803 -

Is the manual lock half-way between locked and unlocked?

There would be no reason for this to affect the fob's control of the door -

Does the door unlock with the button on the door? If so, then it's not the door. Try relearning the fob (start out just trying to synch the fob - hold down both the lock and unlock for 10 seconds and the horn will toot.

If that does not work, try the re-learn in the DIC options - read your owners manual to go there if you have to.

good luck -

best regards -

Re: 2001 Door Locks

Thanks so much for the reply. Manually unlocking the door does work and the lock is not in the middle position. I did the DIC procedure and "retrained" the fob, but still same problem. Interesingly, holding the two buttons down did not make the horn sound. Anyway, I'll keep trying.

Thanks again!

hi Rob -

No problem! I wish I had done you some good

If the fob is actuating the opposing door, then it is the actuator in the door the is malfuntioning, if the fob does not un lock either door, it is the battery or the fob itself.
