Question 98 zx2 factory cd changer skips??

I have a 98 zx2, it has the facotry cd changer in the trunk, it seems to skip often even when just sitting with the acc. on listening to the radio.

sounds as if the disk is dirty or the lens.

I have tried to use a lens cleaner cd to resolve this issue but it only seemed to clear it up for a short time, and sometimes it plays fine.

wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knows a easy solution which is less costly then taking it in somewhere or replacing it
