Lamp Out Flashes w/ chime...

Hello All...I am a Newbie to the site and came across it doing a google search. So far site has been very helpful and I wish I knew about it before hand. Anyways I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500...and when driving down the road in the middle of the day with no lights on the Ram has a "Ding" and the the "Lamp Out" flashes and then before I know it, it will go off and all is fine again. I find this weird has I have not got any lights on (nor any daytime running lights) at all and I am not even touching the brake pedal. I did a search and had no luck...Maybe cuase I haven't got the hang of things quite yet. Anyways any help would be apperciated. Thanks in Advance!

Re: Lamp Out Flashes w/ chime...

you could have a wet connector under the truck or often the 4 way trailer plug from the factory under the truck has a cap on it and usually fills with water then shorts across i would check all the connectors under the truck going to lamps and to trailler plugs and if you want the dealer can reconfigure the fcm module to use the same circuit as the turn signal to attempt to isolate what circuit is giving the problem

I am having the same problem.... 2002 Ram 1500 P/U.... I just checked all my lamps and found that my 3rd brake light (by cargo lamp) was out.. I just replaced it and am hoping this cures it. Did you have any luck with your indicator/chime ?

I would check the taillights, they commonly have a bad circut board. Have someone press the brakes while you check them out too. Just to be sure you dont miss anything.
