2004 Acccord Oil filter application?

I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX 4cyl and had read somewhere that I can use a larger oil filter than specified in my manual? Does anyone have any info on that or can direct me in the right direction? Would be appreciated!

Honda has 3 oil filters. A large one that was used in the early 80's and then a slightly large one that they used all the way up into a couple of years ago when they introduced the small one thats now on your car. the small one also replaced all the others. the middle of the line one however is still used on the S200. So if you went to the dealer and they actually follow the way Honda wants it to be and you ask for an oil filter for an S2000 you will see the size differance.

Here is the part numbers just in case.

Large filter: P/N 15400-PLC-004

Small filter: P/N 15400-PT7-005
