Thumbs up 98 Neon Sport problems

I will try to drive it myself, but these are the symptoms from my wife. She is mechanically inclined, so it should be ok. (her father made her change her oil and minor maintenance in return she got a car)
One of hte many pluses I like.
Anyways, The oil light will flash or even come on while driving down the road or the chime will start dinging. It has oil and runs fine. It has no codes, so I'm think a short in wires somewhere. I was hoping someone else has had similar probs or someone may have an idea to where to start looking.
the chime goes off and all gauges work . the oil light is the same way. Sometimes both and other times its one or the other.
I am hoping its not a bad oil pump. but would that cause the chime?
It will chime with oil light off.
the car sounds and runs great.
it doesn't rattle or knock when light is on or off.

What chime? The one with the door open and the keys in the ignition? When my oil light comes on, its usually in a turn with low oil, but I don't get a chime.

Re: 98 Neon Sport problems

I was getting intermittent problems from both the oil light and the chime. They both would come on at any random time. Found a loose ground connection and a bad connector on the temp sensor and I hjave drobe it all day with no probs. So I hope it is fixed.
