What you have to do to get attention around here

This is a totally bone-stock '99 Toyota Celica that I just finished. It's primary mission in life is to accompany the SAS Kaminari Celica I recently finished in a how-to style magazine article. Hopefully someday Chris will see fit to finish the Ultimate Celica, whereby this plain-vanilla coupe will be transformed.

Until that day, we have this beautiful raw canvas to observe:





This is the one the magazine article is really about, the white GT is simply around for a couple of beauty shots...sort of a before/after kind of thing.

Okay, I lied. Once the "official" slides are taken, these puny rims are outta here. I've got some Nismo's that look much like the stock Celica GT-S rims. Then I can twiddle my thumbs waiting for Chris to get that Ultimate Celica finished...

Looks uhhh stock. But the finished product is very well built. However, it needs to be a lil slower.

Nice. I like your panel lines too. A lot of people make them stand out to much but you applied them very good.

Hopefully pretty soon! I'm about 85% done with the Skyline and The rest are in a state of "suspended activity" for now. I've fallen back into a mild slump and I'm having other problems as well

Cool, they look nice together. I like the mirrors on the SAS one, Scratch built? and did you tint the windows or is it just the refection creating the effect?

Thanks! The mirrors are from my parts box, old school GM mirrors I suppose. The windows were tinted w/Alclad II chrome faded w/Testors smoke. The effect is amazing, you can even see through them...from inside. Veyron was the one who tried it first.

Thanks, I did these panel lines in black on the white Tamiya primer, using a black .005 Pigma Micron. The pure white Tamiya paint over the black/primer still allows it to show through as gray. I tried this technique first on the blue one, and really like the subtlety of the panel lines.

You can't get much slower than a model car w/the front wheels locked! Damn, I should've installed the automatic shifter to really kill those 130 wild ponies...
