Unhappy 2003 Altima Factory Alarm

Aproximately two weeks ago my 2003 Nissan Altima started beeping non stop when parked. The remote of the car no longer works either. I have been told its the factory alarm and was wondering if anyone out there knows where it is located so I can disconnect it without having to go to Nissan to do it as they charge $120 just to view it and whatever other labor cost to disconnect it.
Also...my neighbors both at work and home are about to kill me.
Please...if you have any idea at all let me know????

Re: 2003 Altima Factory Alarm

More than likely your alarm was professionally installed at the dealer by an outside contractor prior to being delivered to the original owner. Not many people would know the differance between factory and dealer installation. If every Nissan or every Altima had the same alarm, location, and connections, theives would know how to easily bypass them, just like you are asking. Alarms usually have a three year warranty. Has the car battery been replaced since the car was new? Have AutoZone test the battery. Go to someplace like BestBuy that installs aftermarket alarms and see if you can get information from them about repairing or dissconnecting your alarm. If they think you may be buying a new alarm from them they should be more than happy to help you. If they won't help you, why would you or anyone else buy from them?
