93 Lumina left turning noise

When ever I turn to the left, no matter at what speed, even slightly to the left, I hear kind of a grinding sound. It almost sounds like something is loose. It doesn't sound like CV joints (I could be wrong though), but it almost feels as if the noise is resonating through the brakes. The are no noises when I'm driving straight or turning to the right even at higher speeds. Any ideas?

Check for the obvious things first, badly worn or uneven brake pads, warped, uneven rotors, stuck or frozen caliper, loose caliper brackets.

If those check out, look for the not so obvious. Do you have aftermarket wheels or larger than stock tires? How tight are your lugs? (it can have an effect on your rotors). You may also have a bad hub.

Block the rear wheels and raise the front wheels off the ground, and remove both tires. See if you can recreate the noise.

it def sounds like a wheel bearing. lift the front tires off the ground and grab the top and bottom of the tire and pull/push the top/bottom out oppositely. aka, pull out on top and push the bottom in then reverse. check for play. next thing you do is spin the wheel and listen for growling. do that on both sides and if its not apparent then, have someone stand outside and go in circles around em so they can tell you if its the left or right wheel.

Changed my my hub assembly, checked my brake assembly. Still making a funny noise especially when I turn left but also now when I slowing down driving straight. I only here it when I'm driving at low speeds. The only noise that I heard when I had my car jacked up was noise coming from the strut assembly. Could that be it? It still doesn't sound like a CV joint.

Yesterday , with out the car jacked up I shook the left front tire as hard as I could. The noise is definitely coming the strut assembly. Feels and sounds like near the stut mount. Is there a bushing(s) that may need replacing?

There is a bearing in the upper strut mount that the suspension turns on. It is a fairly common issue, especially on high mileage cars. Not doubting you checked the hubs, but to properly check the hub bearing for excessive freelplay that could be causing the noise you describe, you need to loosen the axle nut. The axle nut pulls the outer CV joint into the hub bearing and holds it together. When you loosen the axle nut, this inward pressure is released, and if bad, the hub will then wobble.

I checked the hubs. In fact, I changed the hub on the left side and they are not the problem. Auto Zone has a strut mount kit that includes the lower spring seat with internal bearing and isolator. Any idea how hard of a job it is to change the mount and bearings

You will need a spring compressor to change the mount and isolator. After the job is cmoplete, you'll also need a wheel alignment.
