Decal solution affecting clear coat

I finally remembered to add my decals prior to clearcoating on my latest kit and it appears that where I used Micro sol? (blue one) to aid fitting the residue of the solution has affected the clearcoat sprayed on top.
Not massively but very obvious when you look.

I guess the simple answer is just to clean the body in these areas first but I'm worried about affecting the decals.

Anyone with advise or similar experience?

I just cleared over my decaled Kunny'z Chaser. Used soap and water very carefully over the body...rubbed soap with fingers after letting the decals set over night.
