1997 Blazer Flasher?

The turn signals and hazard lights suddenly went out on my 97 Blazer. I changed the fuse and still no luck.

I've read some posts where either the turn signals or the hazards go out and the advice is usually to change the appropriate flasher, but if both go out at the same time is it more likely to be a bulb?

Change the flashers.

Bulbs don't render your signal system dead.

No problem.

also, might want to swap in a new fuse just to be sure.

Location of 1997 Blazer flasher

I give up, short of pulling out the dash board, I cannot locate the flasher unit on our 97 Blazer. Appreciate any help.

Did you look BEHIND the Glove Box?

Re: 1997 Blazer Flasher?

dino is correct - behind the glovebox.

When I had this similar problem, it ended up being the multifunction switch that died. I had a constant 'clicking' sound from the flasher, until the smoke came out from behind the steering wheel anyways.

On my '97 LT, the two flashers (one for turn signals, one for hazards) were located behind the dash, and if memory serves, just to the left of the "convenience center" (the dual cigarette lighter ports). Only the lower part of the dash needed to be removed. I had replaced my turn signal flasher with a higher amp flasher for towing.
