What causes my tachometer to surge? What's the cure?
My '79 El Camino has an OE tach that jumps to the peg during acceleration then returns to a normal range. |

A poorly grounded tach could cause this. I had an '88 Ranger that would do that. Look around the distributor for loose grounds.
