Yet Another Ferrari, F430

Having this kit started some time ago, let me share with you guys my progress so far~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, you may refer to http://panzer.hkbh.net for my latest progress.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have packed the parts into another box since the original box has been damaged. and this is one of my favorite aircraft kit, the F-14B~~haha~

As the first thing I have done on this kit, I test-fitted the windshield. Since I have also got the Challenge kit, I have clearly see how Fujimi has improve the body on the Challenge. Anyway, let me get this done and have a better modeling pleasure on the Challenge kit soon~~ LoL

And then I have the Parts fitted and the gaps filled with super clue.

And I have also deepened the panel lines around the body as they are actually mildly shaped.

On the other day, I have start the mod on the engine room. just to have the parts cut opened and see how I can fix it~

And I have also re-touched the pnel lines again.

Those air valves at the rear window has been drilled open as I will be using CM's PE set on this kit.

And sooner, painting started.
I have #1200 surfacer and then white primer. And afterall, I have Gunze White all over, serving as a base for the Red.

And then I have got myself the first trial on Finisher paint, which is Bright Red.

And then there are Carbon decal applied on the Rear window.

After all these are done, I have also taken my first trial on Finsiher GP2 clear coat.

After the coating is done, I have to wait for a few days. In the mean time, I have decided to work on the chassis. First, the CM brake discs:

And then the engine bay. A little more mod here.

And I have tested sanding the body after 3-night-time. The GP2 look cool on the finish and I believe it will be fun on the polishment.

I am glad to share with you my another progress here again. And I hope you will be enjoying this. Stay Tuned~~!

Looking very nice
I will enjoy following this.

You seem to have put a lot of different white pre-coats under the red Surfacer+primer+white paint??

Yes, you are right~
It is actually a test over Finisher Foundation Pink.
As you may also find my another thread on the bike secion, my Ducati has been primed with Foundation Pink before the same Bright Red.
As I took a white base on this F430, after all, I would be able to see the difference between the two. If the difference is not large, in term of color tone and sharpness of the red, we may then conclude the use of the Foundation pink ha minimal effect with the use of Finisher Bright Red.
Of course, no one knows the result until the end of my 2 kits' completion. Also, perhaps a different modeler maight got different result as me as we may have different style of painting~~

Anyway, this test is just for fun~~
Hope you would enjoy watching this~~
Thank you very much~

Re: Yet Another Ferrari, F430

Wow, just wow!

Actually, your thread got me really thinking "damn, it's just another ferrari" ... " I ll skip it for now" .

it's only now that i discover the joys that have been hidden beneath this thread!
This is some serious wacko-stuff you're doing now!

It's a pleasure to follow your great pics (best ad for gp2 clear ever) and superb modeling & modifying.

In a borat fashion : I like

Re: Yet Another Ferrari, F430

To Captain Mark: thank you very much~~

To bigfrit : When I notice there are so many Ferraris here these days due to the 60th Anni, and I would really like to take part in the celebration too~~
LOL~~

But the engine will not be scratchbuilt entirely. I will only do those area that are visible though the rear window. just to save up the effort that will not bring much impact on the outcome~
hope this would go well~~

Re: Yet Another Ferrari, F430

this is the rest of the polishment.
since i did not manage to have a thick enough GP2 coating, the paint got rubbed off here and there....

I have to repaint those area in details and have the stuffs rubbed a little afterwards...but the paints dont stay very still on top of gp2 at all

Re: Yet Another Ferrari, F430

Got some update over the weekend~
red parts painted again~
the engine over was reshaped to get a more realistic look.

the cockpit was done in black-red tone, with much AFV modeling techs, such as dry brush, wash and shadowing...

Re: Yet Another Ferrari, F430

More details on the modification at the engine bay...
I have cracked down some of the original structures on the suspension, so as to give room for the placememnt of the engine.

the roll cage for the engine... as usual, i got SM06 on it.

firewall in position, slightly dry brushed. this is actually a pre-assembly of the stuffs. hope it will turns out good enough afterall...

afterall, there are more details finally up the car...

the air box(??) is seperated from the box(still dunno what it is...) at the center, for that they are actually in different colors. so i seperate them so as to facilitate the decal works.

exhausts in SM06 too.

and finally got a snap on the dashbroad.
