COMPLETED:190E AMG Black met.

While i have still some trouble with painting the hood of my Scag (polished through the third time ) i was working on another car.
This will be an exact replica of a car we had, back in 1985.
A 190E AMG 2.3, painted in metallic black from Porsche

Thatīs the kit i used for this, but to be correct: I bought an already built up from e***. It was painted white before and it was obvious, the seller never heard about clear paint for head- and tail lights.
After some hours in brake fluid and a bit of acetone, i got some usable parts.

The AMG wheels i needed were missing here, so i made some resin copies from another Benz-kit. I put on some BMF for the letters.

After priming, base and clear it looks like this. Rim is made with Model Master chrome paint

Next step was to modify the dashboard. Do you know any car of the 80īs which could live without a tape-box?
Furthermore my father had added some gauges in one of the air-??? (please tell me what is it called?), so the model will have them, too.

The Revell kit was made with manual transmission, but we had automatic, so i had to make a new shifter.

Nearly finished dashboard. Benz star is missing some chrome. I never thought i even would found the right steering wheel, but i did. Tamiyaīs 560 SEC Lorinser-kit had it.
Decals for the gauges are printed myself. I tried to immitate some wood look and in this pic you can also see the finished tape box

And before you say: Just another started kit from DasWiesel , it is already finished, but iīm still waiting for some light to take good pictures. Weather is really bad here.
I hope to add them very soon.

That is an amazing dash board; and the BMF on the wheels, superb. Keep up the good work. This is going to be quite the replica.

Pic-test

Could anybody be so kind and tell me, if the following picture is visible for you? I got a strange message from my photo-service that recently pictures i do upload at the weekend would not be visible until the next working day. Are they crazy??

I see it perfectly fine! Nice paint, although the metal flake seems a bit big.

Thanks a lot, KTem! I took tamiyaīs spray can TS-14, cos itīs very close to the original paint and easy to work with. Please send any complaints about metal flakes straight to Japan.
- Just joking , honest critism is always helpful!

Well letīs start then!
Some explanations to the real car:
Sadly, i havenīt got any pictures left, but everything on this car was in body colour. No chrome trims or Benz-stars, so there was no way for me to highlight any details like that.
There were no panel lines for a sun roof in the Revell body, so i made them myself. (picture above)

I still have some trouble with the camera, so i chose the best ones i already have:

I added some exhaust pipes.

Door handles and mirrors were so strongly glued that i left them where they are although they are inclined.

The gap between engine hood and grille was cleaned and Benz-star shaved.
Licences plates and mobile-club badge was printed and applied on some beer can metal. - Drinking for the hobby!

Maybe i can add some interior pics later.

Update!

Here they come:

With the help of some resin i made the floor more smooth and added some flocking. Benz star now with chrome.

The "seams" of the rear seats were adapted to original.

Sorry for the dust *cough*. Tried to clean it, but itīs a real magnet.

Big THANKS to "Geist Casper", who sent me the missing headlights!

Thanks for looking!
