Question about steering wheel knock...
I didn't know there was a widespread problem with this till I started reading this forum. I don't know if my truck is infected with the infamous steering wheel knock or not, but I definitely notice something...
Basically, everything is normal until I corner at highway speeds at which time I can feel "bumps" or "knocks" in the steering wheel. If this is in fact what I'm experiencing, what is the problem and how easy is it to get a dealer to fix the problem while I'm still under warranty? Thanks guys.

under warrenty dealers should fix for free, just a part (intermediate steering shaft) needs to be lubed, some will replace. usually doesnt take long either

Yeah just take it in there,it could take a day,After they change it maybe a month later it started to make a scraping sound,he said a bearing was going out. Anyways they replace it again. Also hows your ABS ? If it feels like your braking and the brake pedal jumps everywhere that's your abs sensor in your hub, they have to change the whole hub to just change the abs sensor.

I found out the ABS gives codes, because when i took it in the first time they couldn't find anything. However after i almost hit a car because of it ,i took it in there right away and they said this time it had codes and they change the hub, because they built the sensor with the hub. If it's the same warranty thing i had when i only had pay 50 dollars to bring it in , i would list all the problems with the trucks and say this is the problems i'm having. So they will have to look at the whole truck for 50 dollars. Even if it was no problems, it's still going be 50.

Re: Question about steering wheel knock...
Hey guys I just received a brand spankin new upper intermediate steering shaft courtesy of GM. I gotta say, it made a hell of a difference. No more knock and the steering feels much tighter, much better like I just drove it off the lot for the first time. Sorry to ramble, I'm just excited and I had to share it with someone.
