Movie trivia

This thread was going to originally be about what I saw, as I was watching the movie, Demolition Man, on the TNT network, which showed after the NBA games were over.

It's been a long while since I have seen this movie, and it wasn't really on the top of my 'most memorable movies' list. As I was watching, and they get to the part where the parole people were killed, and they were investigating the deaths via computer, checking the inmates that were being put up for parole that day. I saw an interesting thing:

^ That's on pause, with the DVR, btw.

I checked, and this movie came out in 1993, and Scott didn't become notorious until ten years later.

Another interesting thing, is that this movie talks about the "Arnold Schwarznegger Presidential Library". Sandra Bullock states that Ah-nold (Stallone's biggest movie rival at the time this movie came out) became President because he was so popular that Congress moved to change the law that bars non-US-born people from running for President.

Hah. There's a petition in Congress for exactly this to happen now.

One thing this movie WASN'T prophetic about, was the fact that the Oldsmobile brand was featured prominently in the movie, because GM, who supplied the cars for the movie, wanted to show that the line had a future, as it was in jeopardy even in 1993, when the movie came out.

Another "Hah!".

Anyhow, I checked Google to see if I wasn't the only one to notice this, and sure enough people have even put it up in blogs, and even declared this one of the most prophetic movies of all time (LMAO).

I also found this site:http://www.saunalahti.fi/frog1/trivia/triv-c.htm

...where I found out the circumstances of Brandon Lee's death in "The Crow" (I've heard how it happened - with a prop gun - but not the exact situation, and I've always wondered):
Quote:
Brandon Lee died during a mishap on the set. A scene required a gun to be loaded, cocked, and then pointed at the camera. Because of the close-range of the shot, the bullets loaded had real brass caps, but no powder. After the cut, the propsmaster (not the armsmaster - he had left the set for the day) dry-fired the gun to get the cock off, knocking an empty cartridge into the barrel of the gun. The next scene to be filmed involving that gun was the rape of Shelly. The gun was loaded with blanks (which usually contain double or triple the powder of a normal bullet to make a loud noise). Lee entered the set carrying a bag of groceries containing an explosive blood pack. The script called for Funboy (Michael Massee) to shoot Eric Draven (Lee) as he entered the room, triggering the blood pack. The cartridge that was stuck in the barrel was blasted at Lee through the bag he was carrying, killing him. The footage of his death was destroyed without being developed. Lee is the son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, who died in mysterious circumstances before completing Game of Death (1978). (Source: imdb.com)
The site also has a ton of other movie trivia that was fun reading through, especially movies I saw as a kid, when we didn't have DVD's with backstories in them.

Thats cool, I like how they show Stallone and Arnold's rivalry in movies. Anyone remmeber Last Action Hero? Where it showed Stallone in a stand up poster posing as Terminator 2. Freaking funny.

I've heard the story about Brandon before, but I'm still confused... he was killed by a blank round, right?

Also, I've heard the Arnold thing too about Demolition Man, and it's really not that prophetic. Arnold has never made a secret of his political intentions, and the movie just reflects what Arnold has said in the past about his goals.
