97 PA Paint Flaking Off

I have a 97 Ultra that I really like. Bought it used at 50,000 miles. I now have 88,000 miles on it and the paint, especially on the hood around the grille. Does anyone have any experience dealing with GM regarding a $40K vehicle on which the paint falls off?

Thanks for any replies!

Re: 97 PA Paint Flaking Off

It is possible number one that paint work was done after production, second issue is the vehicle is 9 years old and it is unreasonable to expect warranty consideration. Have a paint shop measure paint film thickness at the affected area and a good area and compare the thickness, this is any easy job with a paint thickness gage. If the thickness is more than 2 mils difference, paint work has been done.
