Unhappy 95 Lumina bucking at downshift point

I've looked at all the possible solutions your website has offered (Awesome site by the way!) and have a suspicion that you're going to point me at the TCC solenoid, but here are the symptoms and what I've done.
No problems cruising at highway speeds except when the car gets down to the point where it has to downshift out of overdrive under low acceleration. Under this condition the car acts like a bucking horse for about 4 - 6 seconds until the downshift happens, usually after I give it more gas to increase the acceleration. If I step on the gas to downshift intentionally with more acceleration than normal, there is a very slight shudder as it downshifts, but no bucking. No Check Engine light. All other functioning is normal. Help is humbly accepted. Happy New Year.

Phil

Usually the tcc solenoid is on or off and will not cause this, a slight engine misfire under load can cause this, or the torque convertor itself can be slipping just slightly. You could get it scanned by a trans tech and he can see if there is any slippage error in the TC.

Sounds to me like the tcc is sticking on, very common.
When i was looking to buy a car not long ago i would check the plug of the gms i was lookin at and found more than a few unplugged.

You can drive it while unplugged but youre gas gas mileage will suffer.

You will burn up the trans fluid eventually with the tcc disabled, as the additional fluid friction generated by the TC will overheat the fluid.
