stuck throttle on 94 ZJ
last night, coming back from the airport, i notices my throttle started sticking..
as in.. when i press the gas and let go it still pulls like i am applying the gas. when i put it in to park.. it revs to 5k and stays there the gas pedal is loose and has too much slack.. if i keep hitting the gas pedal the throttle corrects itself, untillt h enext time i press the gas.. when i looked under the hood it seems like the Throttle positioning spring(or whatever it's called) is broken. Can anyone if i can replace just the spring and what that spring is called so that i know what to buy? this is on a 94 5.2ZJ edit: this is a pic of a 4.0 TB, the thing i highlited in red is what is broken.. when i called the dealer they told me i have to replace the whole TB which is like $300 can i just replace the spring.. and could i use the spring from a 4.0 TB.. i think it's the same...

Re: stuck throttle on 94 ZJ
Well you will need to replace the entire Throttle Body itself, you cannot remove throttle shaft (let me double check on this tho) from the TB this is why you cannot replace just the spring.

If I saw correctly $300 or so will get you a new one from Rubicon Express that's better than from the stealer.
Or maybe a more inexpensive way to deal with it is to go looking on Ebay. I have seen some people who are porting and polishing throttle bodies. For about $100 I think you can get one from them. You send them your old one as a core after. Same idea as the RE one just that they are machining OEM throttle bodies and the RE one is completely new. They put a new throttle plate in also so let them deal with the spring.
