Abs fuse

I have been having this problem with my abs coming on just before a stop while turning right. I knew it was going to cause me an accident sooner or latter so I pulled the abs fuse. The abs light came on wich I expected but also the spedometer stopped working, that I didn't.
Is this normal or is this a clue to the problem with my abs?

Idont understand how the abs is causing you to have an accident. What is happening, are you losing braking power.

That fuse probably works alot of stuff in the guage cluster. Bet something else is out in there as well.

The problem is the abs is activating when it shouldn't be. (ie on a dry road)

Re: Abs fuse

My 1997 Ranger 4.0 6 cylinder has 211,000 miles no problem except had transmission overhauled yesterday, my ABS light came on over 100,000 miles ago , over two years I was told to ignore it ,common problem. I don't know if this is true, but my brakes have worked fine . had brakes replaced light still stayed on.

Mine are doing the same thing. I pulled the 50 amp fuse in the distribution box located under the hood. That alleviated the other issues
