Transmission question please help!!!!!!!

I went in to my 96 pontiac grand prix gtp, and when i went to put it in drive, it would not catch and i could not move, my reverse works, and my 1st gear shift works but revs real high, then when i drive sometimes it will catch and work,....but randomly,.......any help please?????? ( i checked my fluid....everything is ok in that department)

Welcome to AF! Unfortunately your transmission has gone bad and will need to be replaced. If reverse works but it will not go forward that usually indicates that the transmission is gone. Sorry for the bad news.
