What RPM,MPH,gear do u drive daily around town?

I know this doesn't belong hea, but more people come in hea..I usually drive around 45mph on gear 5 and RPM at around 2500 or sometimes even 6th gear..at the same speed...is it safe to drive at 45 on 6th?

I shift around 3000 rpms most of the time. On the freeway, I cruise at 80mph @ ~4000rpm.

It's so much easier to feel good about moving threads when people say stuff like this. Moving to Cars We Drive.

Well, in the city I drive about 45-50 mph in 4th at about 2300 RPM. I don't shift into 5th until I hit at least 50, in that case I am running at 1800 RPM. If I were you I would not drive at 45MPH in 6th, 5th maybe, 6th no. When I am on the freeway I drive at 75-80MPH in 5th gear doing about 3000RPM.

Lets see. With the VR4's I am usually in the 2K ranges going about 35 mph in second gear around town. The Delorean is right about the same RPM range but in 3rd.

Hey Yogs, Have you ever taken yourself (Or anyone else for that matter) out with the doors of you Delorean?

Its surprising but those gull wing doors take very little room.

The couple of times I've seen them opened in real life (not in BttF), I was surprised that they pretty much go straight up.

i usually cruise at 45mph @ 2000rpm in 3rd in the ZR1. Freeway is 70 mph in 6th @ 1500 RPM. the '79 is usually in its tallest (third) gear with higher RPM, because of the 3:73 gears.

Around town, I usually do 40-45 MPH in 5th. Dunno the RPM's cause the stinking thing didn't come with a tach, but it's low.

i gots a truck, pathfinder to be exact, and i usually cruise around town at ~ 40 in fifth at about 1500 RPM

But sometimes i redline that poorl little V6 at 6 just to beat people off the line, ...that's fun. Problem is, that thing is geared so fuckin low in first and second, it isnt even funny.

I do alot of freeway driving...mostly on the job. My average speed is 70-80 depending on the flow of traffic. Since I was blessed (ha!) with a 3 speed automatic, my rpms run higher so I average between 2700 and 3300 approximately.

40MPH @ 3000RPM in Drive (I usually use my 607 around town and that is an Auto)- of course put it into tiptronic and it's a different story when I am in the Ford Courier I go at about 30MPH @ 3500RPM in 3rd gear, my 2002 and Mustang don't get much street use........
