Compression Renew Oil?

Feels good to sit at a computer and ask questions if havent been able to in awhile..
I've seen random Bottles at the Local Autozone, and wonderd.... Do the bottles of Compression Renew (or engine renew) work? If so, is it just like 20w - 50 or something????
And how about the lucas oil stabilizer? yay, or nay?

And the sketchy question. Why put Octane booster in your vehicle (Esp. the stuff made with Jet fuel...)... Isnt jet fuel like 40 octane?? And have any of you had luck with the octane boosters?
Or any Sort of engine/Tranny/ gas additives for that matter.
Bill

Re: Compression Renew Oil?

Additives are generally not required unless you have specific problems with your vehicle.

Octane booster is usually required only for non- EFI high compression vehicles that ping with premium, when everything is tuned properly.

Old muscle cars (1960's) and highly modified engines with carburetors can benefit from octane booster, thats about it.

As for oil additives, the 'renew' stuff can temporarily help severely worn engines with lots of blowby past the rings. But such engines actually need a rebuild.

Most other oil additives are completely unnessary for engines in good working condition.
