Exclamation 1962 Impala Show Winning build....start to finish.

this is a 62' impala lowrider that myself and a friend from Califonia built together as a team.(I live in Indiana!) I'm a member of Wicked Fantasies MCC, and he's a member of Custom Builders MCC, so it was a nice collaboration of two clubs coming together opposite sides of the country.

We built this car as a sort of "charity" build, in which we will auction it off later this season to benefit our modeling forum http://www.mad-modeler.com. So whatever profit is made will be donated. (Auction date will be posted later)

So without further ado, here is the buildup of this car from start to show. enjoy!!!

The paintscheme is OG...light blue for the exterior, and the interior will be two-tone blue vinyl.

We are using a resin/billet distributor, and a battery kit from ModelCarGarage (if it'll fit!)

Wheels are the new 5.20's from pegasus with chrome disk brakes/calipers.

The rest of the parts were chrome plated.(grey parts are the 62 parts)

Re: 1962 Impala Show Winning build....start to finish.

the upper a-arms are molded to the chassis, so i had to chrome them also as well as polish them with simichrome.

(pic is a little less detailed-no flash)

The Flocking is a light blue with some white mixed in. because back then the carpet had white threads in it!

Here are the hydro cylinders for the front, they will be plumbed when the engine goes in (hardlined).

The front end is ready to go together...I have some braided lines for the brakes, as well as hardlines to go from the frame up.

Re: 1962 Impala Show Winning build....start to finish.

the rear end is finished, got the coil over's mounted, the shocks mounted, brake line ran. and this will be the final stance of the car as well.

if your wondering why the cups are gold, my instant set for my glue took the chrome paint off..i'll have to touch it up again.

Re: 1962 Impala Show Winning build....start to finish.

the interior is painted, i'll let it sit for awhile before i baptize it in the CSC...to take off the sheen and the major part of the gloss.

Re: 1962 Impala Show Winning build....start to finish.

got the seats glued in..as well as the center console. Floor shifter has been tossed out too...being moved to the column.

Passenger door panel is finished being detailed...all the chrome was done with Bare Metal Foil. And the small buttons were painted by hand.
