Headlights for 95 nissan maxima GXE 4dr sedan manual

I have a 95 nissan maxima that I bought off of my brother in law about 3-4years ago. I believe it still has the factory headlights but I want to get newer brighter headlights. Do I have to get nissan headlights or can I get any headlights? Do brighter headlights wear on the battery more? What are some of the brighter, better headlights out there? Also I have a situation where my hi beams are not as bright as my headlights, in fact I think one of the high beams if burned out. Do you have to buy high beams seperately? What are some good high beams also? Can I install these myself? I am not a mechanic.

Thanks.

Jason

Reasons for dim lights is connector oxidation, low voltage b/c of this and many other reasons, old bulbs, poor lamp reflector/glass...

If u have H4 bulbs, one way to get high enough voltage at lamps, is to get new short & thick wires directly from battery (use also fuse). Via Relay control. If u are not familiar with wiring, pls get some help from friends.

Easiest way is just to buy higher wattage bulbs (illegal somewhere). Get the ol bulb in hand and walk into a spares shop... Before doing anything, measure that charge voltage at battery poles is above 14Volts, typical 14.2-14.7Volts.

I rewired like this, see more details on my web page
