Wish me luck....
i just started taking my talon apart after school.... some of you may know that i have a blown head gasket which really sucks. I scared the crap out of myself because one of the bolts to the exhaust heat shield just kinda snapped off.... so it stuck in the manifold... but... im replacing anyway with a ported 2g manifold... so that isn't to bad.. good thing i have all the gaskets my valve cover gasket is shitty and oil is going in only on one spark plug... and all the other ones are perfect, the gasket has leaked so much oil that the oil is collecting on the intake manifold right by the injectors... i can see the stream of oil from the valve cover lol.... im taking off my 14b with some shaft play (side to side) and im trying to get a deal on a small 16g... for $275 bucks... how much of an improvment is that on the 14b? and is that a good deal with 10k miles and no shaft play? i was just also wondering if anyone has any 16g turbos laying around that they want to get rid of. or someone is looking for a 14B turbo with little shaft play.... or a 1g exhaust manifold... does anyone also have some hard IC piping for the side mount? hopefully when i get to the head that it doesn't need to be resurfaced, hopefully it was just a horrible gasket or a bolt not torqued correctly... because it was supposdly rebuilt, maybe they just forgot something... is there anything else that someone can think of that i should check when im doing the head job? any ideas would be sweet, wish me and ez1286 luck because one of us most likley will be in the hospital this weekend doing this lol

How is there a bolt stuck in the manifold? There are no threads in the manifold, just the turbo.

yah, it was from the heat shield... it went from being super hot, then stored in a garage in chicago in the winter, i wasn't surprised when it happen, i was surprised that it was only one bolt...
