I've got a '92 Lumina Euro 4D Sedan with only 46k miles on it. I need to replace the driver's side mirror that has the cable on it (painter broke it off with a ladder). I picked up the complete mirror assy today at a junk yard for $35. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove the inside door panel. I've removed the screw at the door handle and all of the screws around the outside of the door panel. I can't get it to budge. I don't want to damage any clips or fasteners that I know must be holding it on.
Does anyone know the procedure to remove this panel? I can't seem to find any info on this anywhere on the internet, nor can I find any diagrams showing attachment point and so on. If anyone can be of help with this and anything I need to know about replacing the mirror, I'd really appreciate it! I'm trying to get the car ready to sell for Christmas money, so I need to take care of this fast. Thanks in advance! |

Re: 92 Lumina Euro Driver Door Panel Removal
if its like any other door panel, it should be easy to come off.
the panel should be fastened to the door, via several small plastic fasteners. just use a straight blade screw driver and wedge it between the panel and the door, and pry it apart. they make a tool for this, but its not needed, in my opinion. replacement fasters are cheap, and can be bought at any auto part store. here is a link to what the fastners look like: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=265-905 like i said, it should be the same as some of the older doors i am use too. |
