Serious RPM problem with GT- need help!
Here's my reoccuring problem...
I have a Vibe GT- six speed. My car will be running fine, and then all of a sudden when I put my foot on the gas, the RPMs will race up to about 4500 RPMS and the clutch will smell like its burning and the car has no "pull". So Ill shift up and the same thing, Ill be in 3rd gear and my car is barely moving while the RPMS are roaring and the engine is stinking up. Then it will be fine for a week and then happen again. I took it to the dealership twice and they cant figure out whats wrong, they say everything looks fine. Any ideas? |

That is complete buss ish... If this problem is just like you say it is, the no-nonthing machinces should be able to find the problem, I could see if it was something little, no-nonthing american machinces won't find it, but this is a big problem with the trans it sounds like.... So my only suggestion is : Take it to a diffrent dealer, or have a machince shop look at it, and send the bill to GM.

If it smells like a burning clutch - it probably is!

*clutch problems*
i have a 2003 vibe gt with just above 30K miles on it and my clutch has been giving me problems. no acceleration. burning clutch smell. etc...i took it in for a 30k mile tune-up and just got a call from the mechanic that my clutch needs to be replaced. luckily, it's covered under warranty so it won't hit me in the wallet. otherwise it would set me back $1150! ouch!
take it into a different dealer, it may still be covered under warranty. |
