Spark Plug Wires

This is still about my 1995 Chevy corscia 6 cyl 2.2 litre. I've managed to get everything on so far but I have one problem: Of the 4 spark plug wires that were labeled, only 1 is left labeled, I guess the stickers got dirty and fell off. So my questions is, is there anyway to find out which wires go where without having to send my car through misfires and all that fun stuff? Thanks for the help again.

See if this helps you. The firing orde is same on your car. Be sure you know that the coils are #2-3 on the top, then 1-4 on the bottom one. The picture here is right, but shows them based on location when looking at front of motor. When you are in back of motor, the top one is 2-3, then the one under it is 1-4.

Would be the same. this is the only pic I could find. Your firing order is 1-3-4-2, and looking at the coil packs from the 2-3 is the top coil pack and the 1-4 is the bottom one. the pic is a little confusing as it is not mentioning that. Going down the packs you should have 2,3,1,4. Hope this helps. d/c the one wire you have marked yet if you want to but I d/c 91-96's online and in my manual. Should be right..

Alright I just got done connecting the spark plug wires according to what you said:

From the top down-
2
3
1
4

But something I ran into was this: the one we had marked #1 cylinder plug wasn't #1 according to what you gave me, it ended up being another cylinder. So I'll take your word for it (crossing fingers) lol.

One more question before I start her up, on that website it says from the front 4-1-3-2, how is it suddely 2-3-1-4 from looking at the back? is this the order the spark plugs go too?

Unsure why the pic was like it was, except perhaps they were showing them backwards, or, perhaps they were were showing them from an overhead view. I don't know. In the service manual I have it plainly shows the top coil pack as the 2-3 coil and the bottom one as 1-4. Get a second opionion if you want to be sure, but, I do not think GM changed the location of these. By the way, anyone else having problems logging into this site? Having a terrible time myself..

Re: Spark Plug Wires

OK I have a new electrical problem. I'm trying to start the car since I believe I have everything in order, and when I have someone crank on it I hear and see a small spark coming out of a black cylindrical thing that screws into the intake plenum and then we try cranking it again and lose all electrical power. Does something go into that black cylinder-thing? If I can't get this electrical problem solved then I'm afraid it's the end of this car.

I do not know what you are referring to.. Other than spark plugs/wires/coils/igntion module there should be no sparks and the only roung thing I can think of is starter solenoid which is under the engine. Maybe a broken sensor wire perhaps but I can't think of anything else unless a power wire from alternator etc. Did you just put a motor in, or did this motor just stop running? Sounds like an ongoing project that has went on a while. Really need to invest 15 bucks in a Haynes manual so you can identify items. Electrical problems not a reason to junk the car unless in a major fire etc.

No on the intake plenum, the long silver thing on the back of the engine that has the throttle wheels on the left hand side. on the right hand side is the MAP sensor and below the MAP sensor is the black screw thing im talking about. I have a Haynes manual but it doesnt have a picture to show including it. The engine has been down for a couple months due to a blown head gasket.

Further information on the location of the sparks if you still dont know what the black screw thing is, the sparks happen behind fuel injectors #3 and #4 (corresponding to the cylinder numbers). I've checked pretty much all the wires in this area and I'm not even seeing any burn marks.
