B16 swap question.
I am saving for my B16 swap right now. And since I am not good at saving money, I was thinking of buying the parts and stock piling them unitl I get everything. So The first thing I am gonna buy is the mount kit. But what about the clutch. Which one do I buy? The one for the 99-00 Si, the one for the Del Sol VTEC or what? I will probably be getting the JDM B16a1.

All the VTEC B series clutchs are apprently exactly the same.
All the B16a clutchs most deffintly are anyway. But you will probobly get one with the swap, and theres always the possiblity it will be a good one. But buying the mount kit, axles, and wiring harness adaptor are a good start. As well as disc swap for the back end (if you dont have an Si) and new firmer springs and shocks all round. (if you havnt already done this.)

you need the clutch assembly from a 90-91 teg, the other clutches wont work as they come off hydraulic trannies, and im thinkin the shaft is larger in those or has a different number or splines

So when I took my car to Honda last year and got them to fit a new clutch, and they used one from an EK SiR it was all just a dream? I had my box off last month fixing a synchro, and was worried they might have fitted the wrong clutch. However its not possible, as they are all the same. The ITR and CTR uses a differnt cover with a higher clamping force, but size and splines etc are all the same. (The Honda tech (who built a race car the guy I work for campaigns) actualy came to check how I was getting on with the g.box, and when i asked him about differnt clutchs he just laughed, and mentioned they are all the same. He had no reason to lie. )

i think what eight was talkin about is what us people who dont have the luxury of SiR's runnin all over the place in their homeland must use...in north america, we did not get all the SiR gens, the only time we got the b16a was in the del sol and 99-00 SiR both hydro clutches...the only b series motor we could get here in the early 90's thats the most compatible was in the teg (b18 and b17)...maybe the clutch you got was just a dream, maybe youre still dreaming, who knows, it doesnt matter...the fact is for us 4th gen civic owners with b series motors in them, its not as simple as going to honda and asking "can i have a clutch for my 1990 Civic SiR?", in north america anyways...

Actualy it is that simple.
The mechanism that works the clutch fork has no effect on the relaese bearing, or the clutch plate or cover. They are all the same, regardless of whether its a hydrolic or cable clutch. All you have to do is goto your local Honda dealer (or aftermarket parts supplier) and ask for a clutch for a B16a powered car. It dosnt matter if its for a Del Sol or a 99' Si. They are the same. Infact you could even fit one from a Type-R integra. (but it would be a waste if IMO) All the B series engines and matching gear boxs use the same bolt pattern on the flywheel, and the same input shaft on the gear box. In fact its actualy possible to take a Hydrolic CLutch J1 gear box and convert it to a Cable clutch, if you have a Y1 or S1 lying about to scavange the parts off.
