Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
We just bought a 2003 Impala and put on 18 inch rims with 245/45/18 tires. It still rides smooth but now our "low tire pressure" warning light turns on and stays lit. What can I do?

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Cycle the exterior lamp switch from OFF to parking lamps 3 times within 5 seconds After resetting, the TPM system requires up to 30 minutes of straight line driving in each of the 3 speed ranges to complete the calibration process 24-64 km/h (15-40 mph) 64-113 km/h (40-70 mph) 113-145 km/h (70-90 mph)

Where are the pressure monitoring sensors located? I thought they were inside the tires attached to the wheels? If so don't they have to be relocated onto the new wheels?

Good information... I still don't know where the sensors are that physically monitor the tire pressure... Aren't they located inside the wheels/tires?

Re: Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
no it uses the abs sensors which are located on the hub, it senses when one wheel is spinning fast/slower than the others and then throws the LTP code.
if you have the DISP button on your radio it can reset the message too. |

Re: Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
Reset it using your "stock" radio. Turn car off, turn radio off, turn key to ACC. Push and hold the lower knob that says DISP for 10 seconds, your radio display should then say something like "settings" use the buttons directly below the power button to scroll through the menu, get to tire monitor(or similar) push the # 2 button till reset shows up then push the DISP button again. You can re program alarm functions , light functions, add fobs ect using the radio.
