hi all,
and thanks for this form. i need to replace my heater core in a 96 jimmy. i searched with the word "heater" and couldn't find any real answers. i'm hoping to find a step by step about changing it. some of the stuff i've read on the net says i DO have to remove the dash. some say that i DO NOT have to remove the dash. which is it? and of course it's 25 degrees out side and i have to scrape the inside of my windshield while i'm driving |

Re: 96 jimmy heater core, do i really have to remove the dash?
You do have to pull the dash out, not completely but a good 6-8 inches on the right hand side. You will also have a few screws on the cover in the engine compartment that will have to be removed as well.

problem fixed.
just wanted you all to know.
i thought i needed to fix my heater core because the air was blowing out cold. it was not the heater core. the electrical plug that controls the blend door was unplugged from the heater control head |
