97 blazer no reverse

I have a 97 Blazer that is not shifting correctly. When i put it into reverse i have nothing. when the vehicle isnt running and i put it into neutral it will roll as normal but as soon as i start it and it is in nuetral and i give it gas it pulls forward. it will pull forward in all forward gears and acts like it would like to pull in park.

Re: 97 blazer no reverse

A bout time to head for the repair shop.
You might drop the pan and look at the inside shift linkage and make sure it is in good shape.
Also look at what is in bottom of the pan.

If you've lost reverse, you probably are or will have problems with 1st... More than likely the sunshell is cracked...

Re: 97 blazer no reverse

Yea sounds just like what happened in my Envoy. First and reverse broke, had to replace both cogs. Thank god that thing was under warranty because otherwise it woulda been pretty pricey to repair. Peace-
