Towing a trailer behind a 95 Prism?
I am moving soon and am looking into options of how to move my things. I have a 95 Geo Prism. U-Haul claims that the car is capable of towing a small trailer behind it, but I have my doubts. This car seems to have such a weak engine. Do you think it could handle it? Any input from people would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think it can handle a small trailer - one that has a gross weight(with cargo) of no more than 500 pounds. A similar sized car I had could take it, but it took a toll on the front brakes. It wouldn't be tough finding a small trailer - Home Depot sells the small ones. The trouble would be consciously not overfilling it. Things like books are heavy for their size. Hardwood furniture's weight adds up fast. If you did go this route, make sure the radiator has been flushed so that you get full cooling capacity. And that the brakes are 75% or better. A towing hitch will run you about $175 or so with wiring. Good luck - not an easy decision. Tom B.
