Re: 2000 pontiac montanna antifreeze leak
Tracer dye would indicate where the leak was if it was external. The presence of antifreeze in the oil usually is the intake, and not the head, gasket. No antifreeze leaking externally, the loss of coolant somewhere, and no coolant in the oil would indicate possible a possible head gasket leak into the cylinder.

If its the intake gasket you may be able to see external leak. I have a couple pics of what it might look like in this topic:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=476571[/QUOTE Thanks because i went to three garages and two of them told me it was my head gasket and one told me it was my intake gasket "confused" i dont want to replace the intake gasket and than they tell me no it was ur head gasket or vice versa. I checked my oil it looks fine and checked for any gunk did not find any, no signs of where the coolant is going none in my drive way. |

Re: 2000 pontiac montanna antifreeze leak
If it is a small leak and only leaks under pressure (engine hot), then you may never see a drip on the ground until it worsens considerably. If it's leaking similar to where the pictures were leaking, it would run down the hot engine block and evaporate before it reached the ground.
