He's just making a useless post, disregard that.

The Hondata is one of the best mods possible for the RSX. Combined with a cold air intake it gives a good boost in performance for a decent price. Everyone who got the Hondata swears by it. It will increase your redline so you will be able to rev more, but remember not to do it toooo much.

Unless you're lucky enough to find a great dealer, the Hondata will cause any engine work that may need to be taken care of under warranty to not be paid for you (i.e. voided). However it cannot and will not void the warranty for any part of your car that the Hondata does not effect.

I do believe you would want to tell the dealer that you have it though just in case they accidentally override it (unless i'm thinking of something else).

Alright, thanks body! I spoke to the technical advisor and he told me that the warranty will be off if i put an Hondata. So i guess i wil wait until i hit 100 000 kms.

Last question, will i be able to rev around 9000 rpm with the hondata?

Not 9000, that's too much for the stock engine to take. It'll be 8400 I think. The VTEC points also get changed and it improves overall engine performance.

Actually, Schister is right...although I hear Uberdata is still slightly buggy. But free is free.

Re: he's hon-data worth it?

Revving your engine too high will really decrease your long-term reliability. You gotta modify other things to allow the engine to spin that fast. This will often be at the expense of torque.

With the k-pro I think you will be able to set your rev limit to 9000 rpm. If you do this, you run the following risks:
1. broken valve springs causing #2
2. bent valves causing #3
3. messed up pistons from valves hitting it causing #4
4. no engine for you!

Or is it #1 - #3 - #2 - #4? I can't remember! Either way you still get to step #4.

If you do get hondata and aren't planning on modifying other than a CAI/SRI, I would recommend getting the Hondata #2 or #4 flash first. It's about $500. If you ever decide to go to kpro, they only charge another $500 for the upgrade.

The Hondata #2 keeps the stock rev limit, but lowers your VTEC crossover to a lower RPM. The Hondata #4 raises your rev limit, I can't remember how much, and lowers the VTEC crossover as well. I have read that if you do get the higher rev limit, they don't recommend you go there unless you have modified your internals to better components.
