I have a 2001 Durango R/T 5.9 with 39,900 miles. The Fuel pump just failed. Luckily I had an extended maint contract on this sucker so the Dealer is repairing with only my $50 deductible comming out of my pocket. I have however spoken to several mechanics including one at the dealer who have all stated that Durangos and many other Chrysler products are notorious for fuel pump failures. My question is how many here have had to replace a fuel pump. If the problem is wide spread enough that mechanics are openly stating this, Infact even the AAA tow truck driver rapped on the fuel tank when he arrived to tow the vehicle, which by the way got it running again breifly, then why has Dodge/Chrysler not recalled this component. If there is large enough response here with similar problems maybe we can persue this further.
