locking hubs

I have a 2000 F150 4x4 I want to switch out the automatic hubs for locking hubs but I was told by unreliable source that I would not be able to. He said it was beacuse I have independent front suspention and with independent front suspention you can't put locking hubs. But yet I know someone with a newer bronco that has independent front suspen and they switched out the hubs. If anyone knows let me know. Thanks for any input.

Re: locking hubs

i have a 1980 f250 with independent front end, but the newer front ends in the half tons will not let you put in lockouts on them, why do you want lockouts on it.
