Question Service Engine Light

I have a 2000 Chrysler LHS when I change gears from P to D the engine jerks and when I accelerate the engine also jerks plus the service engine light is on can anyone tell me what the problem could be?

could be a busted motor mount though I don't know why the check engine light would be on, unless somthing came unpluged when it jerked, also check your trans fluid level on level ground at operating temp, you can check for a broken motor mount by having somone else shift it back and fourth while you look at the engine. Does it rock more than it should. Could also be u joints but they would only jerk when the trans shifts or was put in gear
