Honda Passport/Isuzu Rodeo 3.2V6
I wasn't quite as good at making diagrams etc. as I should have been and am a little uncertain as to the relationship/placement of some of the bolts/spacers re-assembling the covers etc. after replacing the timing belt on my '98 3.2V6--I have a Haynes book and it isn't explicit enough. Any diagrams or suggestions? Also the belt I got is made by Mitsuboshi and the marks don't seem to agree with either the instructions that came with it or the Haynes book--i.e., if the writing is right-reading from the front of the car, the mark "L. Cam" & "R. Cam" seem reversed, if by left they mean drivers side and by right they mean passenger's. If they mean as facing the engine working on it, then all the marks make sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Passport/Isuzu
Thanks for the pictures and thoughts. The thing that's hard to figure out is, the belt is a Mitsuboshi but the instructions that come with it--in 4 languages--say, "you should be able to read ISUZU when you've got it on the right way"--even though what it says is Mitsuboshi! The belt doesn't have any arrows, one of the things that would help with orientation; and while the pictures on the same instructions orient which pulley it means by right and left, the markings on the belt itself say "L-CAM" & "R-CAM." However, when you put the belt on so that these marks are on the Driver's side and Passenger's side, respectively, then the crank marks are off and the type is upside down. I'm hoping for someone to have experienced this with a Mitsuboshi belt; if not, I'm going with the idea that they meant "left" as it is when you're standing in front of the motor, working on it--backwards to other uses. Then the crankshaft marks are right, all the marks line up, and the writing is readable from in front. Other than the belt, I'm hoping for this; the bolts that hold the water pump on include 1 stud-sort of long thing that goes through both timing covers, and all the rest are the same length--about 1"--except there's one down toward the bottom on the driver's side, that seems to take a slightly longer one--anyone know for sure? Also, while I'm at it, it looks as if the thermostat replacement requires removal of the entire injection system--correct? I thought I'd do it while I was this deep, but that's something else...Thanks again
