Re: How do I do Pearlescent paint

one thing you'll learn quickly is that unless you have Pearlescent, or Chameleon, paint readily available, It's either A) impossible or Nearly impossible to have it change colour by looking at the drawing from different angles. If you mean just getting the purple/blue/orange colourations, it's just like shading, only changing your pen/pencil crayons/markers a few more times. Just look at how the car reflects the light/colour, and draw what you see.

Re: How do I do Pearlescent paint

Hi dshelton, for the pearlescent tvr I did, I used prismacolors and tons of layers, paying close attention to which colors were on my reference, and also adding in alot of greys to keep the realism in the drawing. color too vivid would make it look fake. It's possible to get the pearlescent look on a drawing but not the actual effect since real pearlescent paint on a car changes color because it follows the curves and shapes of the car. Obviously, your piece paper doesnt have have curves. The best advice I could give you is to practice getting really smooth color and tonal transition with whatever medium you'd like to use, then apply it to a drawing.

Hope this helps

Alex

Lol, It's ok Just don't use the same looking technique for crossing the street, or you're dead.
