What wld make a battery crank but not start?

I tried searching the forum, but guess I didn't word it right, cldn't find a response. What has happened is that I've been having battery problems. My battery was drained dead. I bought a battery charger & had it hooked up to my battery, then left the house. I'd broken up with my boyfriend earlier that day. While I was gone, he called & left a message saying he came by the house & saw where I had my battery charger hooked up & he slung it. Then he sent a text saying my car would never start again. Well, when I got home, the battery charger was on the ground, but said "charged". It was still hooked to the battery. I took it off & put the cables back on. When I tried to start it, it would crank, but never would start. Just kept turning over. What could he have done to my car, maybe took loose, to make my car not start now? I've heard of something, I've checked all the plug wires & they're all plugged up. I can't see anything unplugged, but I'm far from a mechanic. I would appreciate any input on what he could've done to my car to cause it to turn over, but not start. Hopefully it's something small that I can find & put back on or something. Thanks for any helpful responses.

I assume this jerk had access under your hood (no pun intended) He could have switched the order of the spark plug wires on the distributer. It should be when you are looking at your engine from the top in front of your car: Top left of dis to far left spark plug, Bottom left (front) of dis to middle left spark plug, Top right of dis to far right spark plug, Bottom right of dis to middle right spark plug.

He could have also removed a fuse from under the hood. Grab your manual in the glove box and compare to the diagram.

Check in your muffler. Maybe he plugged it with something.

Sand / sugar in the gas tank? Oh I hope not. Did it start up initially and then die?

Check everywhere for something disconected. By the way how much does he know about machanics?

Take that text message to the cops, charge the f*ck#r.

Yeah i'd say take it too the cops, make the fucker pay. If you can take the car to a mechanic have them overcharge you, then take the bitch to civil court! Don't forget to miss some work too!!

..... maybe you just need a new altenator, or spark plugs..... you could also start his house on fire, its getting cold out..

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I found out what it was...I had to talk to him again, to get him to come fix it, because the way he was talking it would never run again. It turns out that he just unplugged the coil pack. I didn't even notice it. But thank you all for your advice (about the car & him) I appreciate it...

id check to make sure you coil pack is still pluged in...is your car standard or auto?...if standard try having someone help u push it and start it that way...
