2nd gen fenders

so i have my 87 crx. its a good car mechanicaly but poor in the visual category. id like to put new fenders, hood, bumper, and nose panel on but even with my wholesale prices im still not going to be able to afford them all. ive called every salvage yard within 300 miles with no luck. i have however found numerous 2nd gen parts. i know that the 2nd gen wont just bolt right up so what i am asking is has anyone ever succesfully done this? a honda savvy guy i know told me he thought it could be done by just some simple mods. i just wanna know if anyone has tried, and what their luck was.

Re: 2nd gen fenders

The 2G CRX front end is several inches shorter than the 1G. It is also an inch or two wider and the body contours are completely different.

i am currently in the process of putting a 92 civic fron end on my 85 rex and like lxndr said the body contours are very different that is the main thing.
