Hey people, I really want to know about the most odd ball, out of the way, or hardest thing that you've had to replace and the like...

Starter under the intake manifold on a Lexus V8

Starter on a Renault Alliance, have to remove the right halfshaft for access

Master cylinder on a Chevy Chevette with power brakes and A/C...A/C compressor and Distributor in the way

Heater core on a Mercury Tracer...Entire dash has to COME OUT of the car.

Anything on a SAAB 900 turbo

timing cover on a Ford Winstar - engine must be removed 15hrs of labor for something simple.

Anything on the front of the engine on full size or any rear wheel drive van.

Spark plugs on '93 & up Camaros & Firebirds

Evaporator on Dodge mini vans -complete dash removal

Fuel pump for 82-92 camaros/firebirds rear end, exhaust in the way of tank.

dam sounds hard, my next challenge coming up is changing the spark plugs on a 90 bmw 535i, its a pain in the ass, you have to remove the whole air box, and even if you do its hard to get to them, plus i need to change the distributor, and the distributor and the radiator are like 5 inchs apart, hard to take out IMO

Sebring battery is in a poor spot but no other room.
I never had to remove a coolant overflow to change the air filter on of those vans it just requires a lot of force.

russiankid I'd rather work on a BMW over an american pile any day.

Another one to add to the list Pontiac Aztec BCM(body control module) According to AllData a fuse panel is removed from the center console then the unit comes out. BULL SHIT! After removing the center console and a lot of bitching it finally came out. After talking with the dealer to order a new unit we found out the BCM has been updated 7 times since 2001 due to all the problems. Good work GM, but then again its the ugliest vehicle on the road so you have to expect problems. If I was a computer I wouldn't want to function in that pile either.

Well, sure. But that's what the OTHER forums here are for. After all, there IS plenty of choice.
