Sorry to hear about that...theres a couple routes you can take...
1) If the head isn't ruined just replace the valves that were hit
2) Do the almighty 1g headswap but that will cost some extra $$ unless you are doing it yourself. But the power difference is deffinitely noticable.
3) If the head is ruined just find one locally or like you said off of ebay.

I did number two when mine happened and I regreted it at the time but now I'm glad that I did. Good luck!

Re: bent a valve

what you do next all depends on how much damage was done. Have you torn into it to take a look?

Re: bent a valve

Ive got a 1g head in my room only thing thats missing is one cam gear. It has never been run since it was at the local shop. It was checked and cleaned and has new valve seals. If your interested email me at [email protected] It will be on Ebay in a couple of weeks. I do have pics if you email me or I can post them here

Re: bent a valve

How did you bend a valve and NOT damage the head of the piston?

Re: bent a valve

the 1g has much larger intake ports (it's like 50% bigger) i'm not sure what other differences there are, but use a 1g intake manifold too cause it has bigger runners than the 2g.

Re: bent a valve

The number of bent valves I've seen over the years is staggering, but I have yet to see one piston damaged by it. I have heard of it happening, but its only when the valve actually breaks off. The stem is weak, so the piston just folds it over a bit. If there is a little ding or mark on the piston top, it won't hurt anything. People make tons of power reliably on pistons like this.

Re: bent a valve

Here is a pic of the top pf the head

Here is a pic of the bottom of the head

It was surfaced, cleaned, and checked. It got new valve seals and each valve was checked and they are all good. As you can see the head is completely assembled with the exception of the one cam gear. It makes a big difference to the appeal of your engine when the head looks this clean! It came off of a 6 bolt although it will fit any 4g63.
