dependable nissan, toyota & GM/chevy
so ive got a 1990 n/a 300zx, the thing is showing its age but since i was 16 i vowed being strictly nissan, toyota or GM/chevy owner .... all make very dependable cars that, generally speaking, will outlive Ford cars, and Dodge i dislike since they made an alliance with mistubishi (they made japanese planes in WWII... only a traitor would do that..) so ive been keeping my eye on what these three companies are putting on the car lots these days ... my sisters got an 05 sentra its a 1.8 but thing has lots of torque, anyways ... since my Z is gonig to need an overhaul soon id like to get a better daily driver and something i wont be afraid its going to break on me .... ive been thinking of either a Nissan Sentra, Scion/Toyota TC, and Chevy Cobalt ...
when its dependability which company would you say makes the most dependable low priced cars, i dont care about speed since thats what the Z is for, also if a car is going to last then itd be better to buy it used and save some bucks and you know its still going to last a long time ... hondas may last and be safe but feel like toys more than a car, too easy to mod and just dont feel special maybe its because everyone and their grandparents drives a honduh |

out of the companies you listed I would say the Chevy is the last one I'd pick becuase its a new model from the ground up, the Tc is also a new model and the sentra has horrible crash ratings and just ok for reliability (according to jd power). If I were you I'd get a Carolla, they have a nice XRS pkg.

I would go with the toyota/scion car. Chevy does last a while, but not as long as nissan and toyota, after all, chevy is American made, and the American made cars, just don't last as long as foreign made ones. I drive a corolla myself, its a 91 and it has 169000 miles on it and still runs like its new. Is Scion a branch from Toyota? Whats so special about Scion? I haven't heard much about them.

Re: dependable nissan & toyota
I'd get a brand new Corolla or a new-ish Maxima.

I'd go with the carolla. My dad has a 98 he bought new. it has 185,000 on it and all he's had replaced are some brake pads and regular oil changes. He lives at the base of the Berkshires in Massachussetts and the thing has been through some tough winters too but it still runs like new.
