flowmaster exhaust on a cherokee?

Im going to weld up two 40 series flowmaters on my 98 cherokee. Does anyone know if there is a compression risk or anything when doing that? Im not to educated on the ramifications of changing stock exhaust, thanks.

There shouldnt be any problems. If there are will be any effects it will be your O2 sensor. But that usually happens when you pull of the cat converter or put on a high performance converter

Re: flowmaster exhaust on a cherokee?

Probably know it already but -- disconnect your battery when mig, tig or arc welding and attach the ground directly to the exhaust pipe you are welding.

This will protect the computer modules, bearings and other sensitive components.

Re: flowmaster exhaust on a cherokee?

i have a jeep grand wagoneer with a 360... it has headers, a crossover and 2 40 series which dump out undernieth it.... needless to say, it sounds awesome and performs great! i can't wait till money and time affords... i want to neuter it and slam it (remove all of the 4wd stuff, yeah yeah, i know i am going to catch it for that, but... weight is critical). plans are to get a stroker 401 put in it... and get dule tubos for it... im sure that one is going to be custom fab all the way. but it will be well worth all the work when showing some 'stangs and cameros just how jeep people can do it. haha

Re: flowmaster exhaust on a cherokee?

Us jeep people can already show up the mustangs and cameros, take em off road, no contest, or how about in the winter time on snow covered roads, those sports car just suck in that stuff...

Re: Re: flowmaster exhaust on a cherokee?

you're right, but that is obvious, expected and no challange really... but when a jeep runs down a low 7s car at the strip... thats an upset. its all in fun!
