Hey I got a question for you talon owners. I found a 1990 eagle talon TSI AWD turbo for $400. So I called this guy and he said everything works fine, the turbo, power everything, interior in good condition etc... But he said the only problem is, is that there are 3 bolts holding the transmission onto the block and one of the bolts has broken off. He said he has the part it just needs to get welded on. What do you guys think about this? Will the car be alright once that gets welded on or will there be more problems because this has happend?? I need everyones opinion. please feel free to post anything you have to say about this. Thanks

Re: ***question for talon owners***
because i bought my 90 tsi for the same price with the SAME EXACT problem.
the car is definately worth that price. you just need to find out how severe the problem is. does he mean part of the bellhousing on the tranny is broken and needs to be welded back on? extracting a broken bolt from a block isnt the easiest thing. if its one of the smaller bolts you can most likely live without it. just make sure you know what your getting into before you buy it. |

Re: ***question for talon owners***
Yea he said he has the piece that has broken off, and it just needs to be welded. so i went over to my mechanic today and he said he could do it in about 2 hours. so you think i should go look it over thoroughly before i tell him yes??

Re: ***question for talon owners***
I would. Even if you have to replace the tranny it would be worth the investment. Go for it.
