rim weather protection...

just got rims (yea i know dumb just in time for winter) what do you recommend most for putting on my rims to protect them from the cold and the salt when it snows?

alloy R2 GTR-4's are the rims

I've heard Zoop Seal works, but thats for chrome only....i think

They are rims. Little bit of salt is not going to do anything to them that driving them in the 3 other seasons will not. Just rinse them once or twice a week.

^^^i had actually thought about doing that, cuz my black steelie's are in the garage hangin out, but kansas weather is sooooooo random, cold as fuck in the morning frosting the windows and warm in the afternoon so i was just gonna try some protection

I know many people that use stock wheels with winter tires for the winter & nice wheels for the other season's. No sense on ruining good expensive wheels when you got crap wheels laying around. The weather is just as random here in Chicago too.

Even here in So. Cali weather can be random. High 29's in the morning in the dead of winter, 70's by high noon. The only thing that's crapping my wheels is rock chips from crap hitting them on the freeway. =\ My wheels have survived weathering just fine, yours should too.

Just roughed it. You can put spray-on protectant on them, but you shouldn't need to as long as you wipe them down maybe like once a week or so. Right now I haven't tended to mine in at least a month so the mirror polished lip on them is gunmetal from brake dust, lol! And it's been hit with rain on 2 different days and then cooked by the sun as well since. But it'll all wipe off with water and a rag.
