Hello I have a 1999 ford taurus 3.0 single cam i believe it to be the vulcan engine recently had the tranny rebuilt 2 days latter battery light came on and alternator wasnt charging took out alternator had it checked at autozone it failed test so i replaced it started car an battery light still is on removed new alternator and had it checked and it tested out fine as well as the battery cleaned all conections to battery . light seem to be dimming so i did not want to drive it far. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks Bob

On my wifes 3.0L DOHC, there is a 30 amp fuse in the engine compartments fuse box that is specifically for the charging circuit. You should probably check the owners manual to see if the same fuse is there as well. I would definitely pull and check that fuse first and then the mega fuse (if your car has it) as well.
